Most people know Jeff Thompson as “Bubba”. Although he has had the nickname his entire life, Bubba became a local celebrity when he played “Ricky Bubba” and starred alongside some famous athletes in commercials spoofing the movie Talladega Nights.
Bubba was born in Dallas, but only because Pottsboro, Texas didn’t have a hospital and his parents didn’t want him to be born in Oklahoma. Growing up, they always had several cars, trucks and motorcycles on their property. One day, having nothing better to do, he convinced his niece to put on a blonde wig while he put on his dad’s slacks and cowboy boots. Armed with a rifle, tripod, and a VHS camcorder, he produced his first car commercial at the age of 12. This video still turns up every once in a while.
Bubba’s first job while attending college was at KXII-TV Channel 12 in Sherman, Texas. He proceeded to get into the installation of data, video, and sound systems for schools and sports venues. After spending some time in the late 90’s as an insurance agent, Bubba found his true passion in the car business.
This “Doctor of Carology” is no stranger to entertainment either. He is currently the Co-Producer of The Drew Pearson Show on Fox Sports and co-produced another show that gained over 1 million YouTube views in less than 90 days. He will be able to keep listeners engaged with his automotive knowledge, but also be able to share his insights on sports as well. After high school, Proctor played two years of minor league baseball in the Carolina League.
In 2013, Proctor helped the Make A Wish Foundation grant the first wish of the year and participated with the Texas vs. The Nation All-Star Football Game, which provided child identity kits to North Texas children.
Jim “The Doctor of Carology” Proctor, better known as “Doc”, is an automotive industry expert to say the least. He is Collin County’s 2013 Dealer of the Year awarded by The Collin County Business Press and currently running one of the fastest growing dealerships in North Texas. From 2004-2011, Proctor was a managing partner of a dealership that was in the Top 50 Nationwide in Internet Sales. He has been in the automotive industry for over 25 years and is recognized as one of the most innovative general managers known in the US.
From an early age, Jim’s father showed him that a strong work ethic would allow anybody to do anything if they set their mind to it. His father started at the bottom of a major corporation and earned his way to the top, retiring as the regional director. “My father never let me make excuses and always challenged me to go after my dreams,” says Proctor.
Proctor is a natural at talk radio. He has the ability to talk and work with people of all types of personalities and backgrounds. He honed his skills of talking his way out of tough situations during his early years on the streets of Washington D.C., especially since he was proud to show that he was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan.
Contrary to the nickname, Thompson is not your average “Bubba”. This Native American cowboy may have been raised in a small town, but now he is known for putting small town dealerships on the map. He started in sales and worked his way to management. Over the last 11 years, he has made a name for himself in the business. Bubba is well-versed in what marketing, technology, and the internet means for automotive dealerships and has been recognized for helping to rank his dealerships among the top 3 internet dealers in the nation.
Bubba has been married for 14 years to his wife, Herrin, and together they have one daughter, a 10-year-old Choctaw princess. Bubba spends some of his free time with his family visiting his hometown, where they keep their donkey, and the rest of it trying to track down his old favorite car that he wishes he never sold… a 1980 Pontiac Trans Am with black interior and exterior.
He also serves as a consultant for a wide variety of companies, even those outside of media. In addition to freelancing for top newspapers, magazines and websites, including The Dallas Morning News, Quick, La Mode, BlackBook, SUCCESS and New York Resident, Salfen has been a weekly guest on local TV (ABC, Fox), radio (CNN Radio) and podcast shows and is currently working on a television show of his own.
Paul Salfen is a Dallas-based TV host, editor and writer who currently holds the positions of co-host, writer and producer of the "Drew Pearson Show" on FOX Sports, Managing Editor for Flavorpill and Entertainment & Travel Editor for ScoreBoard.
Now he can add radio show personality to his resume as he will host a celebrity and entertainment segment on the new The ANE Show, which will be aired every Saturday at 9 AM on 1190AM.
He has previously held the positions of Editorial Director and Editor-In-Chief for ENVY Publications (ENVY magazine, Replay Sports Monthly), Managing Editor and Associate Publisher of 944 magazine, Texas Regional Editor for Where magazine and Editor and Publisher of Dallas Music Guide. He has spent the past 12 years interviewing the biggest and brightest stars in film and music including the likes of Tom Cruise, Harrison Ford, Angelina Jolie, Will Smith, Willie Nelson and Ozzy Osbourne, as well as a series of sports, travel and business articles. Salfen is a serial entrepreneur in the media industry, having started and/or built up several publications both online and in print.

Seeing that there was a lack of providers for what dealerships really needed in social media and online reputation, he gave birth to what is now DeliveryMaxx.
I believe the most important thing about being successful is first knowing you can achieve anything you set your mind to. I am a Dallas, TX professional model with a love of the arts as well as fashion. Modeling certainly has become my way of expressing myself as an artist and every time I step in front of the camera I share a part of myself with the world.
I owe my successes to all the amazing people that have shared their time and creativity with me. I am signed by the Callidus Agency and am now a Co-Host of "The Drew Pearson Show" on Fox Sports. Every day is a new adventure and I look forward to challenging myself and to be a role model to other young women.
